Mutle C. Mogase

 

Mr. Mogase is the co-founder and Executive Chairman of Vantage Capital Group, an investment and finance house. Vantage Capital was formed after the merger of MMR Equity Capital, of which Mr. Mogase was a joint founder, with Vantage Capital in 2001.

Vantage Capital commenced operations as a private equity and investment house.  In 2006 the group launched its first Mezzanine Fund, and this is now the primary focus of the group.
Mezzanine Fund I was just under R1bn and was followed by Mezzanine Fund II at just under R2bn.  The group has two other operating entities in the debt space, Debt Capital Markets, a bond origination business and Vantage Greenex Fund.

Mr Mogase is also Non Executive Chairman of African Bank Investments Limited.

Mr. Mogase is past chairman of the Southern African Venture Capital and Private Equity Association.  He was also intimately involved in the negotiations and development of the Financial Sector Charter.

Mr. Mogase was also chairman of the Micro Finance Regulatory council (MFRC) and it has during his tenure that the New Credit Act was developed.

The group also has proprietaty investments held through Vantage Capital Investments.

Mr Mogase holds a BComm degree from University of Cape Town, has also completed an Executive Development Programme at the University of New York, and a Graduate Diploma in Corporate Governance at the Institute of Management Technology in Johnannesburg.
